Payments direct to landlords
Payment can, in some circumstances, be paid directly to you
as a landlord
- Where your tenant has agreed for direct payments to be made to
you.
- Without your tenant's consent, if the Council considers it is
in your tenant's best interests to make payment direct to you.
- Without your tenant's consent if they have left the address and
there are rent arrears outstanding for the period that Housing
Benefit has been awarded and this is still due to be paid or;
- In certain instances if your tenant is eight weeks or more in
arrears with the rent (depending upon the reason for the
arrears).
