Moving Out

If you are moving out from a property within Carlisle City Council's area you should let us know so that we can make the necessary adjustments to your bill.

We will need some or all of the following information depending upon the circumstances:

• Your name and present address
• The date you are moving
• Your new address
• A daytime telephone number and/or e-mail address
• If the property was owned or rented
• Date of sale
• Name(s) of new resident(s)
• Whether the property is furnished
• Tenancy dates
• Name and address of landlord or agent
• Names of any tenants remaining after you have moved out

If you are moving outside Carlisle City Council's area.

Find out what band your new property is in in England

Once you have found out the band of your new property, all you need to do is to go into that Local Authorities website and their Council Tax section to find out the charge for that Band.

Moving In

If you are moving in to a property in Carlisle City Council's area you should let us know as soon as possible so that we can send you a bill and spread the payments for as long as possible.

• Number of adults (over 18) in the property
• Whether the property is furnished

• Post Office - expect a small fee for mail redirection
