Pay your Council Tax bill
Payment of Council Tax instalments must be received by the
Council by the date shown on the bill. This is normally ten monthly
instalments which are due on the first day of each month between 1
April and 1 January.
Automated payments
Council Tax can be either paid online
or using our 24 hour automated telephone payment system on
01228 817486.
To set up Monthly direct debit, please print and return a
Direct Debit Mandate or
telephone 01228 817200 to request a form and pre-paid envelope.
To pay via Internet Banking, use the Council's Sort code
40-16-22 and Account No 71275984. Please quote the Council Tax
reference from your bill.
Postal Payments
Payment can be made by Cheque or Postal Order. Please write your
Council Tax reference on the back of any cheque or postal order and
send to:

We accept payment over the counter by cash, VISA, Mastercard,
Switch/Maestro and VISA Delta

Paying by Instalments
Council Tax can be paid in full by 1 April each year or the cost
can be spread in a number of ways:
- Half yearly where you pay half by 1 April and the remainder by
1 October each year.
- Quarterly payments due on 1 April, 1 July, 1 October and 1
January.
- Ten monthly instalments which are due on the first day of each
month between 1 April and 1 January.
