Carer support groups

Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust have a list of support groups and organisations that work closely with carers.

To improve patient recovery and our quality of service it is vital to:

• Work closely with carers and provide 24 hours a day support.
• Involve carers in the care planning process.
• Provide an opportunity for carers to discuss their issues in relation to their role as carer.
• Ensure that a Carer's Assessment is completed.
• Support carers in developing coping strategies and other skills to support their role.
• Provide copies of the service user's home treatment care plan if requested with the service user's consent.
