Carlisle City Council provides the new and small business sector
with good quality business premises, in convenient locations. We
are currently responsible for over 97 small, well designed
workshops, office and studio premises at six locations within the
Carlisle district.

Denton Holme Trade Centre
Close to the city centre, this development has 29 units in five
blocks varying from approximately 600sq ft to 2,500 sq ft. The
trade centre is served by its own estate road and each unit has an
allocated parking area.
South John Street
Half a mile south of the city centre, this development has
eight, terraced workshops, each approximately 500sq ft in size and
adjacent to a busy arterial route. The units all have on-site
parking.
Hewson Street
Situated close to the city centre, this development has five
workshops each approximately 500 sq ft. The site also provides
parking spaces.
Carlisle Enterprise Centre
The Enterprise Centre provides
managed workspace for over 40 small businesses in a range of
workshop, studio and office units which are available on a monthly
licence. The centre is only a five minute walk from the city centre
and gives new and existing businesses the best possible start.
There are a range of services offered by the centre for each
business along with reserved car parking for tenants.
James Street
This is the newest and most prestigious of the small workshop
schemes owned by the City Council. The site is only a quarter of a
mile from the city centre. There are seven units in total. Three of
the units are approximately 1,000 sq ft and each has a display
window to their James street frontage. Four of the units are 750
sq. ft.
Port Road
Located half a mile west of the city centre, this development
has five workshops, each approximately 1,000 sq ft. Each unit has a
display window and rear services yard with off-street parking.
