Caravan and Camping sites
Carlisle City Council are responsible for issuing site licences
and enforcing site licence conditions. Licences will only be issued
once Planning Permission has been granted. This includes sites
which accept touring caravans, static caravans and residential
caravan sites, sometimes referred to as Park Homes.
There are some exceptions. For more information you should
contact the our Environmental Health Section. Site licences
identify owners and their site management and maintenance
responsibilities, these include:
- The licence must be clearly displayed on site
- Providing fire precautions and adequate amenities
- Controlling the number of caravans on the site
- Distance between and positioning of caravans
- Providing adequate drainage and water supplies
- Providing adequate electric and gas mains supplies
For further information or to apply for a licence you should
contact the Environmental Health
Section.
There are model standards for caravan sites which would now be
standard for any new residential caravan park that set up after
2008. These standards are listed below in the downloadable
documents.
