Charitable Collection

A Charitable Event is similar to a Street Collection, other than the collection is ancillary to the main event taking place. An example would be some sort of street entertainment, a display or a national event passing through the City (for example, Lands End to John O'Groats walk).

These events may be authorised by the Licensing Officer under delegated powers after considering the application.

Application should be by way of letter to the council, preferably on the headed notepaper of the organisation, stating the date, times and location of the collection requested.

As with Street Collections, a 'Form of Statement' must be returned to the City Council within one month of the event taking place.
