Temporary Use Notices
A Temporary Use Notice allows the use of premises for gambling
where there is no premises license but
where a gambling operator wishes to use the premises temporarily
for providing facilities for gambling. Premises that might be
suitable for a temporary use notice would include hotels,
conference centres, and sporting venues.
A temporary use notice may only be granted to a person or
company holding a relevant operating
license. For example, the holder of a betting operating license
could apply to provide betting facilities at a snooker
tournament.
The Notice must be lodged with us not less than 3 months and 1
day before the event begins, and must be copied to the following
authorities (see GG02 below)
- Gambling Commission
- Cumbria Police
- HM Revenue & Customs
