several markets in Carlisle which are operated by or on behalf of

These include:
City Centre Farmers Market
Held on the first Friday of every month from 10am until 4pm on

Rosehill Farmers Market
A monthly Farmers Market is operated at Rosehill, close to
Junction 43 of the M6. Borderway Farmers Markets are held in the
Exhibition Hall, Borderway Mart, Carlisle on the second Saturday of
the month between 9.30am and 1pm.

Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers' Mart
Cumberland &
Dumfriesshire Farmers' Mart (external link) based in
Longtown, Cumbria, was founded in 1926 by a group of local farmers
and is now the largest market in the UK for sales of sheep.
Carlisle Market Hall
The Market Hall, Carlisle, one of the few covered Victorian
Markets remaining in the Country has a wide variety of stalls, with
everything from fresh meat and vegetables, haberdashery, clothes,
florists, stationery and much more. The Market has two cafés
offering food. The Market is open from Monday to Saturday
(including bank Holidays) from 9am till 5pm. There are over a
