Carers
Carers are people who look after others, providing care or
essential support to people who are unable to do everything for
themselves. Carers may be relatives of the person they look after
or they might be a friend or neighbour. They may or may not live
with them. The amount of support a carer provides will also vary.
Apart from state benefits, carers are not paid for the care and
support they provide.
Cumbria County Council can provide:
- information and advice;
- support to help you care and to maintain your health and
wellbeing;
- breaks which offer you time away from caring; and
- emotional support.
