Residential care for children
Children's residential care provides care for
children and young people in residential homes. Staff in
children's residential care work closely with children and young
people, birth parents and other family members, shared carers,
foster carers and other agencies to enable young people’s
integration into communities, families and independent living.
Cumbria County Council's services offer care for
children and young people in a range of settings including:
- respite care in residential homes;
- short term (up to 6 month) and longer terms in residential
homes; and
- shared care;
- foster care; and
- adoption.
