What is supporting people
Supporting People is a government programme that
funds, monitors, reviews and improves housing related support
services to provide additional assistance and support to enable
vulnerable people to live independently.
This is done in partnership with Local Housing
Authorities, Adult & Local Services, Health, Probation,
Registered Social Landlords, Users and Carers and the Voluntary and
Private sector.
Who can Supporting People services help?
- person who is or has been homeless
- person with learning disabilities
- person with mental health issues
- young person at risk or care leavers
- teenage parent
- older person
- person at risk of domestic violence
- person with substance misuse issues
- person with a physical and/or sensory disability
- gypsy or traveller
- person at risk of offending
- homeless family with support needs
