Benefit Advice Service
Most benefits cannot be backdated and therefore it is essential
to claim in time. You, or a person claiming on your behalf, have a
responsibility to claim the right benefit in time. "Not knowing"
about a benefit is not a good reason for not claiming in time. At
times it is difficult to know which benefit or benefits are the
right benefits and sometimes rules change.
Our Benefit Advice Team are specialist welfare rights advisors
who provide a comprehensive advice service on the whole range of
benefits provided by the Department for Work and Pensions and
Carlisle City Council, and Tax Credits provided by the Inland
Revenue.
Based at the Civic Centre, Carlisle, the Benefit Advice Service
offers appointments at the Civic Centre and at outreach surgeries
available in
- Petteril Bank;
- Longtown;
- Brampton;
- Morton; and
- Greystone.
