Customer services
Translation can be done verbally either over the telephone or
face to face at the customer service centre and public council
offices. We can also provide written and emailed communications in
other languages as required.
Carlisle City Council uses the language line (external link)
service for translation and interpretation. This service enables
customers to communicate with council departments and receive
information about council services in their preferred language.

Alternative formats
We can provide translated, large print and audio CD versions of
our printed information in most cases. Please contact customer services or the relevant council
department to request information in alternative formats.
