Talkin Tarn
Countdown to Bank Holiday countryside event
A fun packed 'Curious Countryside' event will be staged at
Talkin Tarn country park this August Bank Holiday Monday (27
August).
Free family activities will be held between 10.30am and
4.30pm.
The opportunity to take part in pole lathing, bird box making
and willow weaving will all be on offer. Countryside crafts and
woodland demonstrations will also be on show.
The event is aimed at all ages and will include a variety of
activities to suit all the family.
Organised by Carlisle City Council's Talkin Tarn staff the event
will be based around the tarn's tearoom and educational wooden
hut.
Fiona Shipp, Talkin Tarn's Manager said:
We want to do as much as possible to make the
event a great family day out and we will lay on a wide range of
activities to suit all the family. We hope our local residents come
out in force to support it.
Talkin Tarn has played host to a variety of community events
this year. A Music Festival was held earlier this summer and
attracted hundreds of visitors. The annual Regatta was also a
success when it was held in early July.
