Local festive treats at Sands Centre party
(Date of issue: Monday, 1 December 2008)
The Sands Centre will play host to around 100 Carlisle City
Council children this Sunday (7 December) at the Unison Christmas
party.
The event is open to all Carlisle City Council, Carlisle Leisure
Limited and Carlisle Housing Association employees children and is
much anticipated on the festive calendar. Each child will get a
present from Father Christmas and will be able to sample the Bouncy
Castle, the Treasure Island Adventure Centre, festive games and
take part in the world famous balloon drop (more than 500 balloons
per party). A healthy party meal will also be provided.
Parents, carers and grandparents are also catered for, with
mince pies and refreshments.
Event organiser Ian Smith said:
"We are expecting around 100 children ranging
from three months to ten years old this Sunday and because of the
demand, we’ve had to extend the event to include two parties. It
promises to be a fun event and will hopefully build on the success
of previous parties."
The Children’s Christmas Party has been organised on behalf of
Carlisle City Unison Branch by Ian Smith and Paula Norris along
with lots of volunteer helpers and will be split into two parties.
The first will begin at 11am and the second at 2pm. Both are open
to children up the age of ten years old.
