Football takes Council’s fancy!
(Date of issue: Wednesday, 7 December 2011)
Carlisle City Council staff members, will be taking part in a
fancy dress football tournament this Saturday (10, December),
between 8am and 1pm, at Richard Rose Central Academy.
The football tournament is part of an ongoing men’s health
campaign, for Carlisle City Council employees, and is funded by the
Learning Communities Network.
The fancy dress competition has been entered by three teams, who
don’t just want to sit on the sidelines, but want to get involved
and have some football fun – and in fancy dress too!
Cllr Jacquelyne Geddes, Portfolio holder for Community
Engagement, said:
“We are pleased to organise this fun morning, for staff.
Football is a great way to keep fit, and this tournament is a good
opportunity for staff members, to interact with colleagues who they
don’t normally get a chance to work with.”
There will be a prize on offer for the winning team, and for the
best dressed team.
