Refuse and recycling update
(Date of issue: Monday, 11 January 2010)
Refuse and recycling collections have started up again in
Carlisle today (Monday, 11 January).
Services are as follows:
Refuse:
We will aim to collect any refuse not collected late last week,
today (Monday, 11 January) and tomorrow (Tuesday, 12 January).
We are still finding it difficult to access some remote rural
properties, however we will try and make collections as soon as
conditions allow.
All other householders are asked to leave their refuse bins out
for collection on their normal collection date.
Recycling:
Please leave your recycling out on your normal collection day.
If your recycling is not collected on the specified day then please
put it out on your next scheduled collection day (check
your recycling calendar for details). Any extra recycling
should be bagged and put out for collection by the appropriate
container.
The collection of garden waste has been suspended and will
resume again in February, weather permitting. This is to
concentrate efforts on collecting refuse as quickly as possible.
Residents are advised to check their recycling calendars and put
their green waste bin out for collection from their next February
collection date.
