Industrial Action

Carlisle City Council’s Civic Centre closed to the public

(Date of issue: Tuesday 15 July 2008)

Due to the industrial action which is taking place on Wednesday 16 July and Thursday 17 July, the Civic Centre will be closed to the public, other services will be operating as normal.

The decision to close the building has been taken on security, health and safety grounds as it cannot be predicted what level of service will be provided due to strike action by staff.

The customer contact centre will be closed to the public and the 01228 817200 customer contact centre number and the main switchboard number 01228 817000 will not be available. There will be a recorded message advising callers about the disruption in service.

Other City Council buildings will be open including Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery and community centres.
