Local residents are being invited to put their best foot forward this month (Sunday, 27 July), as part of a charity dog walk around Hammond’s Pond, Carlisle.

Starting and finishing at the café, the event has been organised be the Friends of Hammond’s and will start at 10am. It will involve walking a 1.5-mile distance around the local beauty spot and will help raise funding for Cumbria Cerebral Palsy.

Sponsorship forms can be collected from Cerebral Palsy shops in Carlisle, at Hammond’s Pond café or can be requested by calling 01228 522983 or 07767 888 611.

This is the first time the sponsored walk will be held in the park but, if it proves popular, the event may become a regular feature.
