Outside fun at local country park

Children's activity days will be held at Talkin Tarn Country
Park over the summer school holidays.
Organised as part of Flora of the Fells Festival, there will be
a wide range of fun and exciting ways to get up close and personal
with Cumbria's wildlife. Events will be held between 2pm and 5pm on
the following days:
- Thursday, 31 July – Brilliant Birds – Find out more about
birds, play the migration game and take home your own bird
feeder;
- Thursday, 7 August – Flower Fun – Find out about flowers, be a
busy bee and take a flower mask home;
- Thursday, 14 August – Al Fresco Art – Art activities, some
pretty, some grubby;
- Thursday, 21 August – Sights, Sounds and Smells – Make a pongy
potion, find out why bats don’t bang into things and discover all
the wonderful sights at your local country park.
Advance tickets cost £3 per session or £5 on the day.
All children must be accompanied by an adult. Prices are per
child and include all materials and a free cup of tea/coffee for
the accompanying adult. Old clothes and wellies should be worn.

City Council as part of the 2008 Flora of the Fells Festival,
funded by Friends of the Lake District, Natural England and the
Lake District National Park Authority.
