Interactive water feature - summer repairs
(Date of issue: Tuesday, 21 July 2009)
Bitts Park’s interactive water feature will be closed this
Thursday (23 July) to allow maintenance work to be done.
The £140,000 feature opened in the Carlisle play area in June
2004 and includes water jets, sprays, misters and fountains. Some
are activated by pads set into the ground or by buttons on posts at
suitable heights for wheelchair users and some are set to go off at
random intervals by automatic timers. It is all surfaced with
non-slip rubber and fenced in.
Ustigate, the company who installed the water feature for
Carlisle City Council, will carry out a full service of the
equipment.
Carlisle City Council who manages the park would like to
apologise for any inconvenience the closure may cause, but would
like to remind park users that the remaining play area equipment
will continue to be in use and will not be affected by the
maintenance work.
