Take a stroll this autumn and winter

Carlisle City Council is encouraging local
residents to take a stroll this autumn/winter and take part in a
series of new
free guided walks around local beauty spots.
All walks are the first steps towards a
healthy lifestyle and have been arranged around local parks, woods,
riversides and fells to help individuals discover, explore and
learn about their local area.
As part of the free programme, planned
walks will be held at 10.30am and 1pm at the following
locations:
- Wednesday 8 September:
Dalston to Carlisle - meet at the south end of Denton Street,
Denton Holme.
- Wednesday 22 September: Watchtree
Nature Reserve - meet at the Watchtree Reserve car park,
Great Orton.
- Wednesday 6 October: Brampton (below
the ridge) - meet at the roadside parking at the bottom of
Station Road.
- Wednesday 20 October: River Eden,
Carlisle - meet at The Sheepmount Stadium.
- Wednesday 3 November: Scotby
village - meet at Scotby main street,
near the village hall.
- Wednesday 17 November: Kingmoor
Nature Reserve (South) – meet at the nature reserve car
park on Kingmoor Road.
- Wednesday 1 December:
River Caldew & Carlisle - meet at the south
end of Denton Street.
- Wednesday 15 December:
Christmas Special, Warwick Bridge - meet at
Warwick Mill. A scenic walk, followed by a ‘bring and share’ lunch.
