Carlisle City Council Upperby Elections – 2008
Carlisle City Council Upperby elections were held on Thursday,
12 June 2008. Two seats were contested therefore electors had two
votes each. Polling stations were open between 7am and 10pm.
The election count was held at the Civic Centre, soon after the
polls closed at 10pm.
Total number of eligible voters 4,092
Total number of requests for postal votes 588
Total of number of postal votes cast 446 (75.85% of requests
received)

There was a 36.14% overall turnout (1,479 ballot papers
counted).
