Carlisle Mayor invites neighbours and friends to charity event

The Mayor of Carlisle, Councillor Mrs Jacquelyne Geddes and her Consort, Will Geddes are opening up their home to neighbours and friends this Sunday (22 June), as part of a fundraising event.

The Mayor has chosen Carlisle Mencap as the main beneficiary for the Mayor’s Charity Fund 2008/2009 and will be asking visitors to make donations towards the local charity.

The afternoon event will be held between 2pm and 4pm at the Mayor’s home, 18 Harker Park Road, Harker, Carlisle and is the first fundraising event staged by the newly appointed Mayor.

Mayor of Carlisle, Cllr Mrs Jacquelyne Geddes said:

"Carlisle Mencap is a charity dear to my heart and we hope to use the ‘At Home’ fundraising event, along with others, to raise the profile of the charity as well as raise much needed funds. "
