(Date of issue: Friday, 19 March 2010)
Carlisle’s first ever wheelchair tennis training session will
start next Monday (22 March) in the Bitts Park airdome, between 7pm
and 8pm.
The sessions have been arranged by Carlisle City Council’s
Sports and Recreation team and the newly formed Carlisle wheelchair
sports club. They will include training from an LTA coach. It is
planned to hold the training each Monday.
The event is open all ages and abilities. Adapted tennis
wheelchairs will available to use on the day. Paul Frampton from
Carlisle City Council’s Sport & Recreation team said:
"We always striving to build on our tennis programme, to ensure
all residents are given the opportunity to take part. This will be
the first time that a wheelchair tennis training session has been
organised in Carlisle and we hope it’s a success."
