A ‘Thriller’ of a night
Charity Black Tie Dinner for Carlisle Mayor’s Charity Fund
(Date of issue: Wednesday, 16 March 2011)
A ‘Thrilling’ evening will be held towards the end of the year
of office of The Mayor of Carlisle, Councillor Mary Styth.
The ‘Thriller Black Tie Dinner’ will be held in aid of the
Carlisle Mayor’s Charity Fund and will be one of the final events
in the Mayor’s civic diary.
Organised by the Mayor’s daughter, Carol Milnes, Director of CA
Events Ltd, it will be held at the Hallmark Hotel, Carlisle on
Friday, 15 April at 7.30pm.
The Mayor is asking local businesses to lend their support to
the event, which will benefit the Mayor’s Charities. The main
beneficiaries will be the Carlisle Youth Zone, the Henry Lonsdale
Trust and The Living Well Trust.
The Mayor of Carlisle, Cllr Mary Styth, said:
“I would like to thank all the businesses and individuals for
their wonderful support during my Mayoral year. With support from
my Charity Committee, our fundraising events have resulted in more
than £140,000 being raised.
“This is sure to be a record-breaking total and one which will
reap tremendous benefits for local charities, including the
Carlisle Youth Zone.”
The glittering Thriller event will include a tribute to pop
legend, Michael Jackson. In addition to a three course and drinks
reception, a charity raffle will also be held as part of the
fundraising activities.
