Strong partnership
Carlisle & Eden Crime and Reduction Partnership (CDRP) have
reason to be pleased with the most recent figures for Anti-Social
Behaviour for the period April 07 to March 08.
Last year there were a total of 18,343 incidents and this year
saw 14963 incidents. These figures show a reduction of 3,380
incidents or 18% on the previous year for the whole of North
Cumbria. With a reduction of 2,909 incidents or 19% for Carlisle
& District and a reduction of 471 incidents or 16% for
Eden.
The current CDRP priorities, which include contributing to a
high quality of life for all, and creating an environment where
people can feel secure and live without the threat or fear of crime
are reflected in these performance figures. They are a testament to
the hard work and dedication of all of the partners involved in
helping to make Carlisle and Eden among the safest places to live
in the country.
Mary Robinson Chair of Carlisle & Eden CDRP said:
‘’ these figures show that the CDRP’s approach to
tackling local issues with residents, through close partnership
work, actively supports improvements in the quality of life for
people living in Carlisle and Eden. Helping to make the area one of
the safest places in which to live, work and visit.’’
North Cumbria Chief Superintendent Andy Davidson said:
" these figures demonstrate that we are working
hard to address local people’s concerns and reduce the fear of
crime, reducing Anti-Social Behaviour figures by a total of 18% for
the whole of North Cumbria on the same period last year is a
significant achievement. Another example of positive action taken
with our partners to make the residents of Carlisle and Eden feel
safe and secure.’’
