Elections to the European Parliament and Cumbria County Council are scheduled to take place on the same day – Thursday, 4 June, 2009.
A 'Have a Go at Watersports Day' will be staged on the tarn between 10.30am and 5.30pm on Sunday, 7 June. The free event will allow visitors to try their hand at canoeing, kayaking, sailing, rowing and model boating.
An army of soldiers from different periods in the history of Carlisle will march through the city once again on Thursday 28th May.
