Upperby Gala
Free bank holiday fun for all the family to enjoy

Carlisle City Council’s Upperby Gala will provide fun for all
the family next Bank Holiday Monday (31 May), between 1pm and
4pm.
The free event will be held at Hammond’s Pond. Visitors will be
entertained by the Heroes’ Cheerleading Team, the Welsh Axemen, the
Crazy Tramps, American Style Wrestling and the Combustionaires
Dancing Tractors.
Local soccer skills will also be tested out as part of a
mini-football tournament organised by Upperby Park FC and
children’s entertainer Cheeky Charlie, fairground rides, archery
and a model railway will provide a packed programme for children
and young people.
Stalls from a variety of local community groups will offer
information and activities. The Royal Navy and the RSPCA will also
be attending the event.
The Lairds of Dixieland Jazz Band and a vintage vehicle display
will also form part of the community event’s entertainment.
The Upperby Gala has free admission and will open between 1pm
and 4pm. Refreshments will be available.
