Greenbox recycling
Changes to collection dates
(Date of issue: Wednesday, 26 May 2010)
Carlisle City Council will soon be making changes to some of
their Greenbox collection rounds.
As a result of contractual changes to its popular Greenbox
kerbside recycling service, around 5,000 households will have a
change of collection date from June onwards. Letters and revised
calendars will be sent out this week to all those affected by the
changes.
All residents are also being reminded to put their Greenbox
recycling box out for collection out by 7am on the day of their
scheduled collection.
Cllr Ray Bloxham, Portfolio holder for Local Environment,
said:
“Some residents may find a change in their normal
collection date and will be asked to put their Greenboxes out for
collection on the new date specified on their new collection
calendar. We apologise for any short-term inconvenience this may
cause and will happily take any additional recycling on their
scheduled collection day. If there isn’t enough room in your
Greenbox, just place next to your box and we’ll recycle this
too.
“To ensure that residents don’t miss having their
recycling collected, we’re also reminding all residents with
Greenboxes to put their recycling out no later than 7am on the day
its due to be collected. We appreciate that some residents have
become used to placing their Greenbox out at a later time, but as
we have new contractors, there is no guarantee that this will be at
same time as before.”
Residents in the Scotby and Botchergate East areas of Carlisle
are likely to be affected by the change of collection date.
