Talkin Tarn
Time running out to have your say on five-year plan
(Date of issue: Wednesday, 19 May 2010)
Local residents have until next Friday (28 May) to give their
views on a draft five-year plan for Talkin Tarn Country Park.
The management plan sets out the proposed works and projects for
the next five years. A month-long consultation started at the end
of April will allow local residents the chance to comment on its
content.
The plan is divided into the following sections: Site
Descriptions; Conservation; Education; Recreation; Boathouse
Tearooms & Gift Shop; Health & Safety; and Actions
Plans.
The sections are sub-divided into areas of work or facilities,
with a brief description of each including history/background,
current status and a list of action points. There are also two
action plans included:
- Annual - which includes all the day to day maintenance work
required to maintain the park, such as grass cutting regimes.
- Five-Year - which includes larger proposed projects to happen,
or those to be researched, each year over the five year
period.
The management plan is a working document and will be reviewed
and updated annually.
Hard copies of the plan are available to view at the following
locations until Friday, 28 May: Carlisle Main library, Brampton
Library, Civic Centre – Customer Contact Centre, Talkin Tarn
Tearooms and Bousteads Grassing reception, Rome Street.
Feedback forms can also be collected and handed in at these
locations. All feedback forms need to be returned by Friday, 28 May
2010.
