Chief Executive set to retire
(Date of issue: Wednesday, 4 May 2011)
Carlisle City Council’s Chief Executive, Maggie Mooney, will
leave the council in late August this year.
Maggie, aged 60, has taken the decision to retire and will step
down as Chief Executive in around four months time. She said:
“It’s been really difficult decision to make, as I’ve really
enjoyed working for Carlisle City Council, but I feel it’s the
right time.
“I would like to thank colleagues and Members I’ve worked with
over the past eight years. We’ve been through some difficult times,
but the council has always continued to provide excellent services
to local communities.
“It’s been a privilege to be the City Council’s Chief Executive.
I’ll miss working for the council, but will leave with lots of fond
memories.”
Carlisle City Council will now take steps to appoint a new Chief
Executive.
