More than £5,000 raised for local charities

More than £5,000 was raised for local good causes at the 2011
Carlisle Fireshow (Saturday, 5 November).
A large crowd attended the biggest and best Fireshow in the
North. The event was the 25th Fireshow staged by Carlisle City
Council and followed a 2012 Olympic theme.
The £5,090.97 collected on the night will be split between the
Rotary Club of Carlisle (South) and the Mayor's Charity Fund.
The presentation of the cheque to Rotary South will take place
in the Civic Centre next Tuesday (29 November) at 10.30am.
The Carlisle City Council event was delivered in partnership
with cnevents and Carlisle Leisure Limited. More than 35,000 people
attended the event, organised in conjunction with the Black Powder
Monkeys. This year sponsorship was provided by Cumbria Fire &
Rescue Service, Reays Coaches, J and S Wilkinson Builders and
Dawson & Sanderson Travel Agents.
Support was also received from Alexander Sawmills, Andersons
Sawmill, Apex Electrical, Brampton Pallets, Broombys, Brown’s
Haulage, BSW Timber, Carlisle Scaffolding, Cubby Construction,
Cumbria Waste Recycling Ltd, Edmundson’s Electricals, Erik’s
