Fireshow 2007
It's party time at Carlisle's explosive event
Visitors to this year's Carlisle City Council Fireshow will
enjoy an explosive anniversary event.
Staged in Bitts Park, the sparkling spectacular will take place
on Saturday, 3 November and will be the 21st Fireshow event staged
by Carlisle City Council.
A giant four tiered birthday cake will be centre stage at this
year's event. Following a party theme, the event will commemorate
Fireshows from the previous two decades and local residents and
visitors are being invited to join in with the party.
More than 2,000 spectacular fireworks will also make sure the
event goes with a 'bang'.
The Fireshow will start at 7pm. Admission is free, although
collections will be made for the Mayor's Charity Fund and Rotary
Club Carlisle (South).
As ever families are advised to be bright sparks and arrive
early to ease traffic congestion. More than 35,000 people are
expected to attend the City Council organised event.
Leader of Carlisle City Council, Cllr Mike Mitchelson said:
Carlisle's Fireshow is unequalled in the north
and is a great example of a free community event ideal for the all
family to enjoy. This year will be the 21st Fireshow held in Bitts
Park and want all our residents to join in the celebrations.
To make the most of it, the advice is simple:
dress warmly, arrive early, leave your fireworks and pets at home
and enjoy one of the greatest free shows you're ever likely to see,
anywhere in the country.
The Bitts Park spectacular is organised by Carlisle City Council
in conjunction with the Black Powder Monkeys.
CFM Radio, News & Star and Story are sponsoring the event.
Support is also received from Browns Haulage, BSW Timber, Carlisle
Scaffolding, Crown Bevcan and Newey and Aire.
