New planning application put forward

(Date of issue: Tuesday, 14 October 2008)

A new planning application for the Carlisle airport site has been submitted to Carlisle City Council.

The City Council’s planning section has been handed the application, along with a range of accompanying supplementary information. This will now be assessed to ensure that all details have been received and if so, will be ‘validated’ later on this week.

This will then result in the application becoming ‘live’ and the formal publicity and consultation process will then start. As part of the consultation, neighbouring properties and a wide range of statutory bodies will be asked their views. These will then be fed back to the City Council’s Development Control Committee.

The earliest date the planning application could be considered would be at the City Council’s Development Control Committee on Friday, 19 December.
