Winners revealed!

The winners of the 2011 Carlisle Sports Awards have been
announced.
The inaugural Carlisle Sports Awards was held last Saturday (8
October) at The Sands Centre. The sporting event celebrated the
outstanding talent, commitment and success of Carlisle
sportspeople.
As part of the build up to the event, a staggering 75
nominations were received and the winners were revealed on Saturday
evening.
The Carlisle Sports Awards were organised by Carlisle City
Council and Carlisle Sports Council. The winners were:
- JUNIOR PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR – Exceptional
Rising Star – sponsored by Lambert Gill
Awarded to the person demonstrating the highest achievement
within their chosen sport.
Winner: Kathryn Routledge (16 years old) - Water Polo
player
Shortlisted (Special Mention): Anna Armstrong (Cycling) and Jim
Atkinson (Football)

Awarded to three talented athletes who have demonstrated their
potential through achievements during the last year.
Winners: Anna Armstrong (10 years old)
