Eight weeks of coaching available

Hop, skip, and a hockey jump!

Carlisle City Council and Carlisle Leisure Limited have drawn together an eight week programme of sports coaching for local youngsters.

The coaching is available for the Start:Track programme, which starts next Tuesday (18 October) and the QuickSticks Hockey programme which starts on Saturday, 22 October.

If you enjoy running, jumping throwing and would like to have the opportunity to develop your athletic skills, ranging from sprinting to the high jump, places can be booked for the Star:Track course. This will be held at The Sands Centre between Tuesday, 18 October and Tuesday, 6 December, 4pm – 5pm, for children aged 8-12 years old. It only costs £24 and all sessions are run by a qualified Level 2 Athletics coach. Certificates and badges will up for grabs, as well as receiving a goody bag and T-shirt at the first session.

QuickSticks hockey club, is a new club, and will introduce new hockey stars to an exciting, fast and fun sport. Qualified coaches will take children through all of the basic skills and rules of hockey. The QuickSticks course will be held at The Sheepmont Astro Turf between Saturday, 22 October and Saturday, 10 December, 10am - 11.30am, for children aged 7-11 years old. It costs £25 and offers a family discount (pay full price coaching for one sibling and pay half price for another sibling - this applies to both Star:Track and QuickSticks).
