Talkin Tarn
Craft Fair and Art on show at Country Park
Talkin Tarn is playing host to a Craft Fair this Sunday (23
September) between 10am and 4pm.
A mixture of around 15 stalls will selling their goods within
the Alexander Boathouse and the Educational log cabin. A local
photography exhibition will then be staged within the Alexander
Boathouse on Monday (24 September).
The display by local photographer, Richard Siddle will also be
repeated on last the Monday in each month during this year (on
Monday, 29 October; 26 November and 24 December). It will be open
to the public between 10am and 4pm on each of the dates.
The Brampton based Kirkstone Photography was founded in 2006 and
focuses on decorative floral prints. Images are sold in a range of
luxury cards and mounted prints or as a canvas wrap. Richard also
undertakes commissions. Fiona Shipp, Talkin Tarn's Manager
said:
The boathouse is an ideal venue for local
artists. We hope to build on its use as a community space and would
encourage other local artists to come forward.
Talkin Tarn has also played host to a variety of community
events this year. A Music Festival was held earlier this summer and
attracted hundreds of visitors. The annual Regatta was also a
success when it was held in early July.
A Curious Countryside event staged on the August Bank Holiday
Monday attracted a 500 strong crowd. Cumbria Sculptors who took
part in a Bank Holiday Curious Countryside event at the Country
Park also displayed their 3D artwork in the Alexander boathouse
after the event had ended.
The sculpture exhibition followed on from a successful
exhibition held in the boathouse in May this year.
