Carlisle & Eden CDRP looks to the future...
(Date of issue: Tuesday, 8 September 2009)
Carlisle and Eden CDRP is currently reviewing its partnership
priorities. This review process is set to finish on the 18
September and will help determine the CDRPs priorities for the
coming year.
For you to comment on what we intend to do or tell us how you
think we have performed against our current priorities simply view
the Strategic Assessment by logging onto:
Eden District Council
Once you have had a chance to look through the assessment tell
us what you think by e-mailing: CDRP@eden.gov.uk or by telephoning:
01768 817 817 or writing to The Town Hall, Penrith, Cumbria, CA11
7QF before the 18 of September.
The recommended priorities for next year are:
- Violent crime - Including alcohol related violent crime
- Anti-social behaviour - Including youth disorder
- Criminal Damage
- Domestic Violence
Partnership work around Prolific and Prolific Offenders (PPOs),
substance and alcohol misuse and acquisitive crime will continue to
be supported through the Leadership group's work and the above
priority work.
Carlisle and Eden CDRP exists to reduce crime, anti-social
behaviour and the fear of crime in both districts. The CDRP has set
itself an ambitious three year strategy to improve quality of life,
reduce violent crime and address prolific offending behaviour. It
attracts funding for crime reduction initiatives and ensures that
these initiatives address local problems not just relating to crime
but to the causes of crime, fear of crime and other quality of life
issues.
As well as the CDRP carrying out its Strategic Assessment the
partnership has redesigned its logo. This is to make the CDRP more
readily identifiable and clearly show what the partnership is
about. The intention was to create a design that residents can
easily recognise, that is clearly visible and eye catching when
linked to projects and initiatives that the CDRP participates in or
has funded, therefore generally increasing awareness about the
CDRP’s involvement.
Our assessment includes looking at crime data, current projects,
targets and community priorities. This detailed assessment will
then inform a wider process designed to support future strategic
decision-making which will help set our priorities and therefore
the allocation of resources to deal with local issues in our
communities.
