The Executive

Currently, the Executive is made up of the following:

• Professor Councillor Joe Hendry – Leader's Portfolio
• Councillor Colin Glover (Deputy Leader) – Economy & Enterprise Portfolio Holder
• Councillor Mrs Jessica Riddle – Communities & Housing Portfolio Holder
• Councillor Ms Anne Quilter – Culture, Health, Leisure & Young People Portfolio Holder
• Councillor Mrs Elsie Martlew – Environment and Transport Portfolio Holder
• Councillor Dr Les Tickner - Finance, resources & Governance Portfolio Holder

The Executive meets normally on a four-weekly cycle, with the Leader overseeing the agenda and the Forward Plan of key decisions to be considered by the Executive over the coming four months.

The Leader has a set of powers and responsibilities that he has delegated to both Portfolio Holders and Officers in the Scheme of Delegation document.

Under the Executive arrangements, the full council is responsible for setting the City Council’s budget and its policy framework within which the Executive must operate.
