Election Results 2007

Carlisle City Council elections were held on Thursday, 3 May 2007. Polling stations were open between 7am and 10pm. The election count was held in Carlisle Racecourse soon after the polls closed at 10pm.  

City Council elections were held in 18 of the city's 22 wards: Belah, Belle Vue, Botcherby, Burgh, Castle, Currock, Dalston, Denton Holme, Harraby, Irthing, Longtown & Rockcliffe, Lyne, Morton, St. Aidans, Stanwix Urban, Stanwix Rural, Upperby and Yewdale.

Total of number of postal votes cast 7,101 (77% of requests received)

Total number of polling stations 96   Returning Officer - Maggie Mooney (City Council Town Clerk and Chief Executive)  

There was a 35.45% overall turnout (25,166 votes cast).
