Equality Impact Assessment

Equality legislation requires the Council to equality impact assess all its existing and new functions, policies and practices over the next three years. A continuous cycle of impact assessments will then need to be put in place.

Impact assessment is a way of systematically and thoroughly assessing, and consulting on, the effects that a function, policy or practice is likely to have on groups of people within our community.

The Council has developed a three-year equality impact assessment timetable.

The following impact assessments were completed in 2007/8.  If you would like further information about an assessment please contact the Policy and Performance Team.
