Licensing

Carlisle City Council is responsible for several areas of licensing designed to protect public safety and promote public confidence in activities that may otherwise be open to exploitation. These include animal welfare, auctions, boating, caravans, charitable collections, street collections, liquor and entertainments, motor salvage, sex establishments, skin piercing and tattooing, street trading, taxi and private hire.

Gambling

The Council has responsibility for issuing gambling premises licences and covers bookmakers, track betting, gambling machines, amusements and lotteries.
