Best Value Performance Plan

Until April 2008 the City Council had a statutory requirement to produce a Best Value Performance Plan at the end of each financial year.

2007/08 was the final year in which the Council’s performance would be measured using the Government’s Best Value Performance Indicators (BVPIs) and the final in year that a Best Value Performance Plan would be produced.

The Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act, 2007 removed the requirement for best value authorities to compile and publish an annual Best Value Performance Plan from 1 April 2008. Provision has been made for this year for reporting of out turn performance data for 2007/08 Best Value Performance Indicators and a statement confirming compliance with the Code of Practice on Workforce Matters.

Future annual performance reports will be included in the review of the Corporate Improvement Plan.

The Council is committed to delivering improved performance against all the national indicators and has set challenging targets for Best Value Performance Indicators.
