Dog Fouling Enforcement

What We Do:

• Reduce incidence of dog fouling in public areas and therefore reduce the quantity of dog waste on the highways, footways and public open space. issue fixed penalty notices and prosecute offenders under the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005, Section 59 (2) Dog Control Orders (Prescribed Offences and Penalties, etc) Regulations 2006.
• Investigate complaints regarding dog fouling. Respond to service requests within 2 working days.
• Promote responsible dog ownership. Operate an educational programme relating to responsible dog ownership and the legal responsibilities regarding dog fouling.
• Operate a Neighbourhood Dog Watch Scheme within communities
