Food Safety

The role of our Food, Health & Safety Team is to ensure the safety of food which is manufactured, processed, stored or sold within Carlisle and to ensure good working practices for food and health and safety matters.

The Team does this by:

Offering advice on food safety issues
Registering food businesses
Carrying out inspections of food businesses to ensure compliance with food safety and health and safety legislation
Dealing with food complaints
Dealing with cases of Infectious Disease & Food Poisoning
Routinely sampling food
Dealing with complaints of noise from food businesses

We have an enforcement policy to ensure we are fair in our dealings with business (see below).
