The Real Nappy Campaign
Around 8 million disposable nappies are thrown away in Britain
every day. Real nappies are different. They are made from cloth and
can be used over and over again. They are kind to the environment
and great for your pocket too - a saving of about £500 on using
disposables.
Through the Resource Cumbria waste partnership, Carlisle council
are proud to bring you the Cumbria Real Nappy Campaign. The
campaign is an incentive scheme, which aims to encourage more
Cumbrian residents to use real nappies on their babies by
contributing to the cost of purchasing the nappies.
If your baby is under 18 months old and you are a Cumbrian
resident, then you will be eligible to apply for a real nappy
voucher. Vouchers will have a value of £30 per child when you spend
£45 on reusuable nappies and will be redeemable at most local real
nappy retailers against the purchase of real nappies.
