Hospice care
Eden Valley Hospice
(external link) cares for patients, both adult and children, from
the Cumbria and South West Scotland area with life-limiting
illnesses including cancer, and other conditions such as motor
neurone disease, muscular dystrophy and multiple sclerosis, heart
failure, chronic lung diseases, renal failure and chronic
neurological conditions.
Hospice at Home
(external link) was established in 1997 with the objective to
provide a free at home nursing service to those at the end stages
of life. Each year the Charity cares for around 300 patients
and provides support to their families and carers. All services are
provided free of charge.
