Landlords Events
Carlisle City Council's Private Sector Housing Services hold
forum meetings twice a year, for private sector landlords operating
within the council area.
The forum offers landlords access to council offices and
representatives from external organisations, who provide up-to-date
information and guidance on various issues, related to the private
rented sector.
All landlords are welcome to come along and find out about many
different issues that may affect them, as well as getting the
opportunity to network with other landlords operating locally.
Topics that have been covered in past landlord forums
include
- Deposit Guarantee Scheme
- The Rent Service
- Fire Safety in the home
- Tenancy Deposit Protection Schemes
- Home Information Packs
- The Housing Act 2004
NLA Cumbria Branch Meeting
The meeting will be conducted by Ken Staunton,
who was appointed NLA Head Of Regions in August 2011.
Topics covered will include:
NLA Today
How the NLA is changing to meet the
challenges of today’s Private Rental Market, and the benefits of
membership.
Accreditation
What does it mean, and how does
it benefit landlords to be accredited?
Deposit Protection
A look at the system in
England and Wales, and the imminent Scottish system. What’s
involved? What risks are there for landlords?
There will also be time for the usual landlord
forum – an exchange of information, views and anecdotes between
members. Non-members are also welcome to attend.
Refreshments will be provided.
